The utility, which supplies power to three million residential and commercial customers, engaged EDF to help them identify ways to manage their transmission rights and find savings — savings they could pass along to their customers.
Bringing in an outside party on such an initiative was a first for the company. The project required intense collaboration across their various operating entities. But in the end, EDF provided several structured products that the utility used to monetize their portfolio, accretive to their business, so that they could continue to foster the growth of the communities they serve.
